showing god's love in a practical way

Last night I went to Enthralled. It was so smazing! We talked about leadership and how you prettymuch have to have a passion for what you want to do, or you won't like it. One girl (I think her name was Heather) said "How can you light someone else's candle if yours isn't even lit?" That has got to be the coolest and most honest thing. We always talk about how we want to tell people about him, but when it comes down to it fear sometimes takes over.

So, after I left, me and mom decide we wanted to go to Wal*Mart to go grocery shopping. Now, you have to realize, it was ten at night and it was all nasty outside. For some reason we just did. So, we go get all our stuff and then around an hour later we proceded to check out. This lady was working the register and after mom asked her a few questions started pouring out everything going on in her life. She just lost her grandmother that she was extremely close to, and she's graduating college next fall. Just things you don't talk to random people about.

We eventually paid and told her to have a good night and we headed towards the door. You could tell that was our window of oppertunity to do something. By the time we got to the car mom had the idea to invite her to pamper night next Monday. I grabbed an Our Life magazine and went back in. I found her and said that it sounds like she needs a night to herself and how our church was doing that. I told her that she had to register online, and how I had hoped to see her there.

God has called me to serve, and I once heard JP say that serving is simply "showing God's love in a practical way". That's how we are suppoast to serve. I can honestly say it was worth it seeing her face light up, seeing her get so excited about it, and recieving the massive hug she had in store for me. Sometimes we have to realize that it's not about us and what we want to do, but it's all about HIM.
